The Illertalbahn is a single-track railway line in the Allgäu region of Bavaria, running from Immenstadt on the Allgäu Railway to its terminus in Oberstdorf. This non-electrified, standard-gauge branch line of Deutsche Bahn (DB) is 20.7 km long and has a maximum speed of 80 km/h. Electrification of the line via Kempten to Neu-Ulm is planned. Due to its importance for tourism, there has (and used to be) a significant amount of long-distance traffic on this railway line.
