Chemin de fer Aigle–Leysin (Aigle-Leysin-Bahn)
Oftmals tragen bzw. trugen Eisenbahnstrecken zur positiven Entwicklung des regionalen Wirtschaftsstandortes bei. So auch die Eisenbahnstrecke der AL, die bis 1916 von Aigle im Rhonetal aus das im Gesundheits-Tourismus aufblühende Dorf Leysin auf über 1.300 Seehöhe an das internationale Schienennetz anband. Heute hat es statt Sanatorien Hotels im Ganzjahresbetrieb, deren Gäste oftmals die Chemin de fer Aigle–Leysin zur An- und Abreise nutzen. Im Rahmen des Projekts Leysin365 soll die Kapazität der Bahn ausgebaut und zukunftsfit gemacht werden.

Abstract Railway Aigle-Leysin: Railway lines have often contributed to the positive development of regional economies. This is also true of the AL railway line, which until 1916 connected the burgeoning health tourism village of Leysin, situated at an altitude of over 1,300 meters, to the international rail network. Today, instead of sanatoriums, Leysin boasts year-round hotels, whose guests often use the Aigle-Leysin railway for arrival and departure. The Leysin365 project aims to expand the railway’s capacity and modernize it for the future.
